Sentinel Relays

JCC girls 3rd; boys 6th at Fairmont

Jackson County Central was third in the girls team standings and sixth for the boys in the Class AA portion of the Sentinel Relays at Bob Bonk Track in Fairmont Friday.

Fairmont won the girls team title with 139.5 points; River Valley was second (126) and the Huskies third (118).

JCC had four first-place finishes, two from Rylie Cother as she won the 100-meter hurdles (16.73) and long jump (16-6 ¾).

The Huskies also won two relay races.

The 4x100 team of Daysia Tomlin, Natalia Botello-Ramos, Adyson VanWesten and Hannah Carson was first in 53.52 and the 4x200 unit of Tomlin, Botello-Ramos, Zoey Hall and Carson won in 1:51.05.

Fairmont also won the boys title with 176.5 points. JCC scored 78 points for sixth.

The Huskies had two second-place finishes, Ben Dahlin in the 200 meters (23.24) and Evan Paplow in the 1600 meters (4:36.57).

Both Jackson County Central teams will compete in the Section 2A true team meet Tuesday in Wells.
