Seven firsts

Several Mavs win in Lake Crystal

Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin’s boys track and field team recorded seven first-place finishes at a four-team meet in Lake Crystal on Thursday.

The Mavericks had four individual event winners and won three of the four relays.

Lixon Forsberg recorded two of the individual wins as was first in the long jump (17-11) and triple jump (36-11).

Kale Larson won high jump (5-5) and Bear Kosbab was first in the 200 meters.

Josh Roben, Kale Larson and Lucas Larson ran on MCWBO’s winning 4x100- (45.96) and 4x400-meter (3:50.15) relay teams. Kosbab filled the final spot on the 4x100 squad and Mason Menssen the remaining spot on the 4x400 unit.

Also winning was the 4x800 team of Elliot Reynolds, Dominic Dietz, Brody Cook and Hayden O'Connor (10:40.60).

The lone first for the Mavericks in the girls was Evelynn Christenson in the 800 meters (2:37.97).

MCWBO is scheduled to go to Sleepy Eye twice next week, a five-team meet on Monday and the Tomahawk Valley Conference meet on Thursday.
