On the first of six nights of racing this week, Austin McCarl was the sprint cars winner Sunday night at Huset’s Speedway.
McCarl led throughout the Chuck Zitterich Tribute.
“Hats off to the guys on the race track,” he told Inside Line Promotions. “I was able to drive across and slide guys in (turns) three and four. I think in traffic you could move around pretty well. I’m looking forward to the rest of the week. The real show starts tomorrow and Tuesday and the rest of the week, a lot of big hitters coming in tomorrow.”
Dominic Scelzi was second and DJ Netto third. Heat winners were Matt Juhl, McCarl and Justin Henderson. Quick time went to Dusty Zomer.
Also Sunday, Micah Slendy captured his first career RaceSaver sprint car series win at the track and Cory Yeigh was the late model street stocks winner for the third straight week.
The Showdown continues at Huset’s Speedway on Monday and Tuesday for the inaugural Huset’s 50 featuring the World of Outlaws. After that, it's the AGCO Jackson Nationals and Jackson Motorplex Thursday-Saturday.
