Huskies 13th, Mavs 9th in first poll
Jackson County Central and Martin County West are both listed in the first softball ratings of the season by Breakdown Sports Media.
The Huskies are 13th in Class AA while the Mavericks are ninth in Class A.
JCC’s first scheduled action as of now is a doubleheader at 2 p.m. Saturday at Class A No. 6 New Ulm Cathedral.
In fact, five of the Huskies’ first six games are against state-ranked teams.
They’re at Class A No. 11 Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian on Tuesday, April 14; host Class AA No. 12 Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial on Thursday, April 16; and are at Class AAA No. 10 Mankato East on Saturday, April 18 after playing Class AAAA Owatonna earlier that day.
MCW is scheduled to play two road games at the end of this week, facing Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons in Alden on Thursday and visiting Windom on Friday.
Next week the Mavericks are slated to host Mountain Lake Area on April 13 and Madelia on April 16 before they’re scheduled to travel to Wells to face Class A No. 1 United South Central on April 17.
