Huskies 9th in Class 2A; Mavs receive votes in 1A

Jackson County Central is ninth in this week's Class 2A ratings by the Minnesota Fastpitch Coaches Association.

The Huskies are 17-2 and have two regular-season games remaining and both are against rated teams from other classes.

JCC is scheduled to host Class 1A No. 10 Wabasso at 5 p.m. Thursday and Class 3A No. 3 New Ulm at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Big South Conference championship game.

Martin County West is receiving votes in Class 1A for the first time this season.

The Mavericks are slated to play 1A No. 4 New Ulm Cathedral in the Tomahawk Valley Conference championship game at 5 p.m. Thursday at Caswell Park in North Mankato.

All four top-ranked teams remain the same.

United South Central leads Class 1A and Randolph is first in Class 2A. USC edged Randolph 1-0 in nine innings on Monday in Wells.

Mankato East remains first in Class 3A and Forest Lake leads Class 4A.
