
Jackson County Central is 15th in Class 2A in the revised preseason high school softball ratings by Breakdown Sports Media.
The Huskies are 3-0 to start the season after sweeping Windom in a doubleheader Tuesday in Jackson. JCC’s other win was over Class 1A No. 4 Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian.
Next for the Huskies is a 5:30 p.m. home game vs. Blue Earth Area (0-3) on Thursday. After that, Jackson County Central has a week off before playing at Class 2A No. 11 Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial (1-0) on April 17.
Two other Big South Conference teams are ranked as Belle Plaine is fourth in Class 2A and New Ulm is 12th in Class 3A. Neither of those schools is on JCC’s regular season schedule.
Top-ranked teams are New Ulm Cathedral (1A), Randolph (2A), Mankato East (3A) and Forest Lake (4A).
Here are the complete ratings. There are only 14 teams in Class 1A because Pipestone appeared in the initial rankings as a Class 1A team.
