MARSHALL – Windom Area and Marshall split a Big South Conference hockey doubleheader Tuesday at Red Baron Arena.
The Eagles won the boys game 5-3 after the Tigers had won the girls contest 3-0.
Wyatt Haugen had three points for Windom Area in the boys game on two goals and an assist.
Zach Espenson and Sonny Heil each had a goal and an assist and Brady Espenson had two assists. Wriley Haugen scored a goal, while Cragen Porath and Zach Rabbe each had an assist.
Dan Stubbe got the win in goal for the Eagles as he made 25 saves, including 14 in the third period.
Windom Area’s girls had 26 shots on goal, but couldn’t get one past Marshall netminder Belle Deutz. Kaylie Baerg made 16 saves for the Eagles.
The Eagle boys have back-to-back home games, hosting Waseca at 7 p.m. Thursday and Morris/Benson at 5 p.m. Friday.
Windom Area’s girls face Morris/Benson at Benson at 6 p.m. Friday and host Rochester Century at 3 p.m. Saturday.
