JCC wrestlers head to different sites
Jackson County Central’s wrestlers were at two different sites on Saturday as the girls competed in the Paul Krueger Classic in St. James and the boys were at the Don Hall Invitational in Glencoe
Each had one champion.
At St. James, Riley Peterson won three matches by fall to win her weight class, pinning Kameron Visker of Windom/Mountain Lake in 2:17, Annabell Rolfes of Quad County in :22 and Mackenzi Hanson of WML in 1:10.
Kyler Thier was the 145-pound champion in Glencoe.
Thier, who is ranked third at 139 in Class 1A, had a bye, won a 17-2 technical fall in 1:12 over Chase Lee of New Ulm, a 10-2 major decision over Lewis Foley of Windom/Mountain Lake and was a 8-1 winner over New Ulm’s Elijah Rieser in the finals.
JCC’s boys were sixth in the team standings. New Ulm won the team title.
Jackson County Central will host the Pizza Ranch Invitational next Saturday.
