MANKATO – The track and field teams will be the first Jackson County Central spring sports teams to compete this season as the Huskies will be one of six teams at an indoor meet Saturday at Myers Field House at Minnesota State University.
Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey is the host team for the event, which starts at 2 p.m.
Other teams are Windom, Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial/Nicollet, Tracy-Milroy-Balaton, and River Valley (Sleepy Eye, Sleepy Eye St. Mary's, Cedar Mountain, Springfield).
The first outdoor meet is scheduled for Monday, April 4 at Luverne. The Big South Conference meet is Saturday, May 14 at Worthington.
Postseason competition has expanded to three classes, with JCC has been assigned to Section 2A.
The Huskies will compete in the 2A South Sub-Section meet at Mapleton on Thursday, May 26. Qualifiers advance to the Section 2A meet Saturday, June 4 at Todnem Field at Mankato West High School.
The state Class A meet is June 9-10 at St. Michael-Albertville High School.
