Jackson County Central, Martin County West and Fairmont each had two athletes compete in the state cross country meet Saturday at St. Olaf College in Northfield.
The Huskies and Mavericks were in Class 1A in the new three-class format, while the Cardinals were in Class 2A.
In the Class 1A boys race, JCC senior Andrew Boyum was 42nd out of 159 finishers in a 5K time of 17:25.97, while MCW junior Jamesson Forsberg was 46th in 17:29.01.
Sophomore Katie Hartke of MCW placed 24th of 156 finishers in the Class 1A girls race in 20:02.21 and senior Olivia Anderson of JCC was 88th in 21:28.65.
Fairmont’s runner in the Class 2A girls race finished right next to each other with senior Laura Thompson sixth out of 159 finishers in 18:57.87 and freshman Macy Hanson seventh in 18:57.89.
