Jackson County Central and Martin County West will each have two student-athletes competing in the state Class 1A track and field meet Saturday at St. Olaf College in Northfield.
JCC will be represented by Andrew Boyum in the boys race at noon and Olivia Anderson in the 1 p.m. girls race. Both are seniors.
Competing for MCW are junior Jamesson Forsberg in the boys race and sophomore Katie Hartke for the girls.
Boyum qualified for the state meet for the second time. However, last year’s meet was canceled.
Cross country in Minnesota has expanded to a three-class format this year.
Fairmont has two runners qualified for the Class 2A girls meet at 3:30 p.m., senior Laura Thompson and freshman Macy Hanson.
Marshall qualified as a team in the Class 2A girls race. Bellamy Sukalski, daughter of Trent Sukalski of Jackson, is the lone senior on the Tigers’ roster.
