Larson finishes in tie for 39th
Martin County West’s Knox Larson improved his score by one stroke on the second day of the state Class 1A boys golf tournament at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker on Wednesday.
The freshman shot an 83 Wednesday following Tuesday's first-round 84.
His round included eight pars and a Birdie 4 on the par-5, 425-yard 14th hole.
The top golfer from Section 2A was New Ulm Cathedral senior Owen Strei, who finished with a 156 total.
Medalist was Alex Rhode, a junior from Heritage Christian Academy, who had a 36-hole total of two-over 146 on two rounds of 73. He won by two strokes over Braylon Yikanen (Legacy Christian Academy) and Traeton Nelson (Ashby-Brandon-Evansville).
Walker-Hackensack-Akeley won the Class 1A boys team title with a 613 total, with Legacy Christian second with 631.
