One local wrestler in semis; four in wrestlebacks

Jackson County Central will have two wrestlers and Martin County three wrestlers competing on the second day of the state individual wrestling tournament Saturday at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

For the Huskies, Kyler Thier is in the semifinals at 127 pounds in Class 1A and Kayden Eller is in the semifinals at 114. Thier is guaranteed a medal for placing in the top six, while Eller can earn a podium spot with a win in his first match Saturday.

Also for JCC, Isaac Rodriguez was a medical forfeit at 121 pounds, while Dallas Gossen lost twice at 139 Friday and Ryan Haley lost two matches at 189.

Martin County sent three wrestlers to the state 2A tournament, and each made it through the first day. They’ll take home a medal with a win Saturday morning.

Representing the Red Bulls are Pierce Rohman (133), Torrey Paplow (145) and Maddex Faber (172).
