Jackson County Central is rated fifth in Class 2A in the preseason ratings compiled by the Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association. This is the first year of a four-class volleyball system in Minnesota.
The Huskies had a 7-4 record in last year's abbreviated season.
Ranked ahead of JCC in the 2A poll are Southwest Christian, Watertown-Mayer, Maple Lake and Cannon Falls.
The Huskies open their season at St. James Area as part of the Big South Conference Showcase on Saturday, Aug. 28. The home opener is Tuesday, Aug. 31 vs. Heron Lake-Okabena.
Marshall is ranked first in Class 3A. The Tigers will come to Jackson on Tuesday, Sept. 14.
Other top-ranked teams are Mayer Lutheran (1A) and Wayzata (4A).
