Jackson County Central is eighth in the first Class 2A ratings of the season by the Minnesota Boys Basketball Coaches Association.
The Huskies were 22-9 last season and finished sixth at the state tournament.
JCC has made some changes to the early portion of its schedule due to the length of the football season, which culminated in a state championship this weekend.
Jackson County Central will have a scrimmage at Springfield on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Springfield also played in the state football tournament this weekend.
The Huskies’ season opener is now Friday, Dec. 6 at New Ulm. The home opener is Tuesday, Dec. 10 vs. Estherville Lincoln Central.
Two other Big South Conference teams are in the Class 2A poll as Waseca is seventh and Belle Plaine received votes.
Teams rated first are Cherry (1A), Breck (2A), Totino-Grace (3A) and Wayzata (4A).
