Jackson County Central’s girls track and field team will compete in the state Class A true team track and field meet next Saturday (May 20) at Stillwater Area High School. The Huskies won the Section 2A title Tuesday in Wells.
JCC’s boys were second in their section meet, which put them in a virtual meet with the second- through sixth-place teams from the other sections in the state for one of four wildcard berths in the state meet.
Jackson County Central was not able to grab one of those spots, finishing 10th in the team standings.
Field events for the state meet will start at 10 a.m. next Saturday, with track events at 10:15 a.m.
JCC’s girls were seventh in the team standings at last year’s state meet.
