
Four Jackson pitchers combined to limit Pipestone to one run and struck out 17 as the Bulls were 7-1 winners over the A’s in an amateur baseball game in Pipestone Sunday.
Jackson improves to 2-1 and has its home opener at Wacker Field at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday vs. Windom.
Alex Bretzman went seven innings on Sunday and recorded the win, allowing three hits, walking one batter, hitting two and striking out 14.
Landon Vaske struck out two in his inning of work in the eighth inning, Javen Baumgarn went two-thirds of an inning and picked up a strikeout for one of his two outs, and Andrew Boyum finished up, getting a fly ball to left field on the only pitch he threw.
Two players had three hits apiece for the Bulls.
Blake Evans had three hits and also walked once, and Seth Busch also had three hits. Evan Olesen had two hits.
Bretzman and Carter Snyder had doubles, with Easton Bahr getting a hit. Andy Wolf was hit by a pitch twice.
Brandan Alfson and Kolby Louwagie each had two hits for the A’s.
