Top-seeded Jackson County Central swept second-seeded Luverne in the championship match of the Section 3AA South Sub-Section volleyball tournament Thursday night at the Worthington High School gym. Set scores were 25-18, 25-20, 25-21.
The Huskies, now 26-6, will play Paynesville (24-3) in the Section 3AA championship match at 6 p.m. Saturday at Southwest Minnesota State University.
The Bulldogs (23-3) defeated New London-Spicer 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-19) for the North Sub-Section title Thursday in Litchfield.
Saturday’s winner advances to the state Class 2A tournament starting Thursday at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
Sadie Voss had 20 kills, eight digs and was 5-for-6 serving with one ace for JCC. Emma Haren had six kills and was 15-17 serving with five aces.
Alexis O’Reilly posted 16 digs and was 11-13 serving with two aces; Georgiana Wenzel had nine digs, was 9-10 serving with an ace and four blocks; Peyton Hanson had five kills and four blocks; Sydney Osterberg had seven digs; and Elese Paplow had five digs and was 6-7 serving with one ace.
Maci Farmer had 27 set assists, 14 digs and was 7-8 serving with one ace serve.
