Top-seeded Jackson County Central will face second-seeded Luverne in the championship match of the Section 3AA volleyball tournament at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Worthington High School gym.
The Huskies have made their way to the title match with tournament 3-0 wins over St. James Area and Windom. The Cardinals have defeated Fairmont 3-0 and Pipestone 3-2.
JCC has a match record of 25-6 and is 67-21 in sets. Luverne is 19-6 and 56-26.
Jackson County Central won 3-1 when the teams played in Jackson on Oct. 5. That was the last loss for the Cardinals, who have won five straight.
The Class 2A second-ranked Huskies have gone 7-3 since that match with each loss coming to a highly ranked team in a larger class, Class 4A No. 10 Prior Lake and 4A No. 3 Eden Prairie as well as South Dakota Class AA No. 5 Sioux Falls Roosevelt.
The North Sub-Section championship match is at Litchfield Thursday with top-seeded Paynesville (22-3) playing third-seeded New London-Spicer (17-12).
Thursday’s sub-section winners play in the Section 3AA championship match at 6 p.m. Saturday at Southwest Minnesota State University.
