
Jackson won its first game of the day but then dropped the second as the Bulls split a pair of amateur baseball games Sunday at Redbird Field in Luverne.
To start the day, Jackson claimed a 10-0 win over Heron Lake in six innings and the Bulls then lost 4-1 to the host Redbirds.
Three pitchers combined on a two-hit shutout vs. the Lakers. Will Larson went one inning, Andrew Boyum two in his first appearance on the mound for the Bulls and Trace Michelson pitched the final three innings.
Carter Snyder had two hits including a double and walked once. Blake Evans also had two hits.
Andy Wolf was on base five teams as he had one hit an walked four times. Also recording one hit apiece were Evan Olesen, Chris Gumto, Blaise Jacobsen and Ryan Fricke.
Snyder had two more doubles and drove in Jackson’s lone run in the loss to Luverne. Easton Bahr, Evans, Olesen and Will Larson also had hits.
Olesen took the pitching loss vs. Luverne.
The Bulls host Fox Lake Wednesday and Lakefield Friday before closing the regular-season schedule at Worthington Sunday.
