Red Bulls’ Kolbe places at girls section tourney
Martin County’s Kate Kolbe placed third at 142 pounds in the Section 3-4 individual girls wrestling tournament that concluded Saturday in Redwood Falls.
She was the lone representative of the Red Bulls in the tournament. Jackson County Central had two entries.
On Friday, Kolbe had a bye and then won two matches by fall to start the second day of the tournament in the semifinals.
Kolbe lost that semifinal match, but came back with two wins, both by fall for the third-place finish.
She did not have an opportunity for a true second-place match to advance to the state tournament, which will be held Saturday, March 1 at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
For JCC, Aubrey Carnesi was 1-2 at 130 pounds and Audreina Brown was 0-2 at 100.
