Carsen Musser got the win in goal and was the Third Star as the Madison Capitols won 3-2 in overtime over the Sioux Falls Stampede in a United States Hockey League game at Bob Suter's Capitol Ice Arena in Middleton, Wis. Saturday.
The Sherburn native stopped 46 of 48 shots as his save percentage improved from .902 to .905.
That .905 mark ranks Musser second among USHL netminders for the season as he has allowed 74 goals on the 780 shots he has seen. Also, he is third in goals against average with a 2.72 mark.
Musser has played in 27 games for the Capitols this season, posting a 14-9-2-2 record.
Madison has a record of 24-20-4-2 and is in fourth place in the USHL’s eight-team Eastern Conference.
The Capitols are home twice next weekend, hosting the Waterloo Black Hawks on Friday and the Des Moines Buccaneers Saturday.
