Hanna Geistfeld has been named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference women’s basketball Player of the Week.
It’s the second straight week she’s received the honor, the sixth time this season and the 12th of her career.
Geistfeld recorded 31 points, 21 rebounds (including 11 offensive), a game-high four steals and three assists as the Vikings came from behind to beat Northwestern (MN) 74-62 at home Saturday. The Eagles led 54-39 past the halfway mark of the third quarter.
She was 11-for-18 from the field and 8-9 from the free throw line.
Geistfeld is fourth in NCAA Division III women’s basketball in double doubles (10), fourth in points per game (24.0) and 17th in rebounds per game (12.3).
Bethany Lutheran is 9-6 overall and 4-0 in the UMAC.
The Vikings are scheduled to be on the road next weekend, playing at Minnesota-Morris (3-1 UMAC) Friday and then facing Crown College (1-3) Saturday in St. Bonifacius.
On Jan. 25, Bethany is slated to host North Central, which is the only other team unbeaten in the UMAC with a 2-0 record.
