
Jackson County Central offensive tackle Weston Rowe received three offers on a college football career this week, two from FBS schools and one from a traditional Division II power.
The 6-foot-7, 270-pound junior received offers from the United States Air Force Academy and the United States Military Academy (Army). He also was offered by Minnesota State University.
He had previously picked up an offer from the University of South Dakota, an FCS school.
Rowe is the 18th-ranked player in the state for the Class of 2026. He is listed as the No. 2 uncommitted offensive lineman in that class by prepredzone.com.
Air Force is a member of the Mountain West Conference. Troy Calhoun has been the head coach since 2007.
The Falcons have a 135-89 record under Calhoun, who attended the school and has also been a graduate assistant and an assistant coach with the Falcons. He’s been an assistant college coach at Ohio University and Wake Forest, and in the NFL with the Denver Broncos and Houston Texans.
Air Force is 8-5 in bowl games under Calhoun and has won four straight, the last in 2023.
Army plays in the American Athletic Conference. Jeff Monken has been head coach for 12 seasons, compiling an 82-57 record. He previously coached at Georgia Southern and has an overall record of 120-73.
The Black Knights were 12-2 last season, 8-0 in the AAC and defeated Tulane in the conference championship game. Army defeated Louisiana Tech 27-6 in the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, La.
Minnesota State was 11-4 last season and won three NCAA Division II playoff games (two on the road) before losing in the semifinals.
Todd Hoffner has coached the Mavericks for 14 years and has a 142-37 record. MSU has made the playoffs 10 times and reached the championship game in 2014 and 2019.
