Hobie Hedquist was named one of the three stars of the game on back-to-back nights for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the British Columbia Hockey League last weekend.
On Friday the Heron Lake native recorded 32 saves and was named the third star as the Bulldogs were 5-2 winners over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
Then on Saturday Hedquist made 31 saves and earned first star honors in Alberni Valley’s 4-2 win over the West Kelowna Warriors.
Hequist has a 7-6 record for the season with a save percentage of .899 and goals against average of 3.22.
The Bulldogs are in fourth place in the BCHL’s Coastal Division with a 9-9-1 record. Their next game is Friday night vs. the Interior Conference-leading Penticon Vees, who are 20-0.
