Huskies have 2, Mavs 1 at I-90 meet

Jackson County Central had two top ten finishers and Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin one at the I-90 Invitational cross country meet Thursday at Cedar Creek Park in Fairmont.

In the girls race, JCC’s Cora Pauling placed fourth of 67 runners with a 5K time of 20:40.0 and Naiya Ayers was fifth in 21:03.9. MCWBO’s Evelynn Christenson finished seventh in 21:14.9.

The Huskies were second behind St. Peter in the girls team standings. The Mavericks did not have a complete team. Macy Hanson of Fairmont, rated third in the state in Class 2A, was the individual winner in 18:06.9.

St. Peter also won the boys team title. Class 2A seventh-ranked Fanuel Wolday of Worthington was the individual champ in 16:30.4.
