Jackson County Central opened play in the Section 3AA softball tournament with a pair of wins on Tuesday in Luverne.
The Huskies, seeded third in the South Sub-Section, started the day with a 16-1 win over sixth-seeded Minneota/Canby. They then beat second-seeded and host Luverne 9-4.

The Cardinals scored one run in the sixth after loading the bases with one out to get on the scoreboard. JCC plated a pair of insurance runs in the top of the seventh for a 9-1 advantage before Luverne scored three in the bottom half of the seventh, but the Cardinals left the bases loaded.
Hadley Wachal went the distance to win the second game, giving up four hits and striking out 15.
Getting two hits apiece in that game for the Huskies were Brittany Tufvesson, Johnson, Finck, Mady Wachal, Sawyer Flatgard, Renae Vancura and CJ Pauling.
