Brandon Williamson pitched well but took the loss as the Arkansas Travelers lost 2-1 to the Wichita Wind Surge in a Double-A Central League game Friday night.
Williamson went six innings, allowing one earned run on six hits, walking one and striking out 10. He threw 81 pitches, 57 for strikes.
The Martin County West graduate worked out of multiple tough situations, including in the third inning when Wichita had runners on second and third with one out. Williamson got out of that inning with two strikeouts.
His record with the Travelers slipped to 2-5.
He's 4-6 overall between Double-A Arkansas and the High-A Everett Aqua Sox.
The Travelers have two games remaining on their regular-season schedule. They're a half-game out of a playoff spot.
