JACKSON – Host Jackson County Central won all three of its games Saturday at its own softball tournament.
The Huskies opened the day with a 17-0 win over Murray County Central, then downed New York Mills 12-9 and edged Worthington 2-1.
In the MCC game, Carson Schneekloth had three hits and scored four runs; Brittany Arduser had three hits and stole five bases; and Lauren Johnson scored three times. Hadley Wachal and Mady Wachal combined to limit the Rebels to one hit and struck out 11.
Five Huskies had multiple-hit games in the win over NYM.
Alexis O’Reilly had four hits, four runs batted in, scored three times and had two stolen bases; Morgan Preuss had three hits including a double; Schneekloth had two hits, scored three runs and stole two bases; Mady Wachal had two hits including a triple and scored twice; Arduser collected two hits and two stolen bases; and Alana Freking had a hit an two RBI.
In the Worthington game, sisters Hadley Wachal and Mady Wachal teamed up in the pitchers circle to hold the Trojans to one hit while striking out 13.
Maia Reed tripled, scored a run and stole a base; and Freking had an RBI hit.
Jackson County Central, 8-9, has two road games remaining on its regular-season schedule. The Huskies are at St. James Area Monday and Blue Earth Area Tuesday.
