Two Jackson County Central golfers advanced to the second round of the Section 3AA girls golf tournament from the first round Wednesday at Oakdale Golf Club in Buffalo Lake.
The top five teams and enough golfers to total 44 qualify for the second round on Thursday, May 29, also at Oakdale. The first round of the boys tourney is today (Thursday), with those qualifiers also advancing to play on May 29 at Oakdale.
Rachel Mohr shot a 102 and Payton Coquyt carded 103 as the Huskies golfers moving on to the second round. JCC was eighth as a team with a 420 total.
Minnewaska Area shot 321 and leads the team standings by 50 strokes over New London-Spicer. The Lakers had five of the top six golfers on the individual leader board.
Annika DeBoer and Arivia DeBoer of Minnewaska Area are tied for the lead with 78.
