Two champions

Red Bulls have two winners at Mankato East

A pair of Martin County wrestlers won their weight class, and the Red Bulls were fourth in the team standings at the six-team Cougar Invitational wrestling tournament at Mankato East High School Saturday.

Class 2A eighth-ranked Pierce Rohman won the 121-pound title, while No. 6 Torrey Paplow was first at 133.

Rohman, a freshman, won all three of his matches by technical fall in the round-robin format tourney. He’s now 31-1.

A sophomore, Paplow won by major decision, tech fall and fall to improve his record to 28-1.

The Red Bulls will host Madelia/Truman, Tri-City United and Windom/Mountain Lake Thursday in Sherburn and then compete in the Big South Conference tournament Friday in Jackson.
