Two firsts

Kosbab wins two events in St. James

Senior Bear Kosbab won two events for the Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin boys track and field team at a meet in St. James on Tuesday.

Kosbab won the 100 meters in a time of 11.65 seconds and the 200 meters in 23.25. The Mavericks were fifth in the team standings.

The top finishes for the MCWBO girls were a trio of thirds.

Evelynn Christenson was third in the 3200 meters (13:07.55) and Mylee Larson had a third place showing in the discus (77-10).

Christenson also anchored the third-place 4x800-meter relay team (12:25.14). Running the first three legs were Macie Kneeland, Braelyn Borchardt and Jocelyn Perez Marroquin.

Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin will compete in the Class A portion of the Sentinel Relays Friday in Fairmont.
