NORTH MANKATO – Martin County West had two golfers qualify for the state Class A boys golf tournament out of the Section 2A tournament that concluded Monday at North Links Golf Course.
Hunter Schmidt is going to the state tournament for the second time after claiming section medalist honors, while Mitchell Weber tied for third.
Schmidt posted a two-day total of 149 on round of 76 and 73. Weber went 77-80–157.
They will play in the state tourney June 14-15 at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker.
United South Central won the team title with a 682 total, one shot better that Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton’s 683.
Sleepy Eye United was third with 711 and MCW was fourth with 740.
Also for the Mavericks, Carter Lyon shot 100-114–214, Evan Roben 107-124–231 and Tate Leiding 125-113–238. Kamden Domeier played the first round for MCW, but was not able to play in the final round.
