ST. PAUL – Truman native Hanna Geistfeld, a 6-foot senior with the Bethany Lutheran College women’s basketball team, has been named Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
It’s the fifth time this season she’s received the honor and the 11th of her career. Both are UMAC records.
Geistfeld scored a season-high 32 points in a 97-75 UMAC win at Martin Luther, shot 70 percent from the field, went 4-for-5 at the free throw line, had nine rebounds and six assists.
She leads NCAA Division III in field goals, points, free throws and rebounds.
BLC is 8-6 overall, 3-0 in the UMAC.
The Vikings are scheduled to play at home in Mankato twice this weekend, hosting North Central Friday and Northwestern Saturday.
