Unbeaten start
JCC baseball 2-0 as it faces Maple River
After a pair of Big South Conference Gold Division wins to start the season, the Jackson County Central baseball team heads to Mapleton for a 5 p.m. nonconference game vs. Maple River. It will be the season opener for the Eagles.
The Huskies moved to 2-0 on Tuesday as they scored in every inning of a 21-0 win over Blue Earth Area. JCC scored one run in the first, seven in the second, four in the third, two in the fourth and seven in the fifth.
Talan Holm went four innings as he is 2-0 on the season, allowing two hits, not walking a batter and striking out seven. Levi Thompson struck out all three batters he faced in the fifth.
Holm also had three runs batted in as he had a two-run double and a sacrifice fly.
Haiden Warmka had three hits and an RBI, Gage Johnson had two hits including a double and three RBI, and Ben Gallagher had two hits and two RBI.
Ryan Fricke was hit by a pitch three times and Carson Kolander twice.
