MCW boys second; girls fourth

Martin County West’s boys tied for second and the girls were fourth at the Valley Conference golf tournament Wednesday at Madelia Golf Course.

Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial won the boys title with a 321 total, with the Mavericks and Alden-Conger tying for second at 353.

MCW’s Hunter Schmidt was medalist with an even-par 70.

St. Clair won the girls team crown with a 404 total, paced by medalist Celine Johnson’s 95.

Martin County West will play in the Section 2A tournament that starts Tuesday at North Links Golf Course in North Mankato.
