Mavs to host Crusaders to start conference play
Martin County West opens Valley Conference volleyball play Thursday by hosting Mankato Loyola in Trimont.
The Mavericks won their third straight match Tuesday, sweeping Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey in Comfrey.
Emily Anderson had nine kills. Avery Sanders led MCW with 13 digs.
Martin County West is 3-2 overall. Loyola is 1-2, having defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Tuesday after losses to Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton and Sleepy Eye.
Other Valley Conference matches Thursday have Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman at Madelia and Alden-Conger at Nicollet.
