Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial can claim sole possession of the Valley Conference girls basketball title with a win in either of its two remaining conference games while three teams remain in contention for the boys title.
LCWM leads the girls standings with a 14-0 record, with St. Clair second at 11-2. Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther is third at 10-4.
The Knights host the Cyclones Monday in their first chance to win the title outright. LCWM was a 56-40 winner at St. Clair of Jan. 14.
Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial closes out league play Thursday at Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons (4-8).
In the boys standings, LCWM is on top with an 11-0 record but those Knights have two teams on their heels as Mankato Loyola is 11-1 and Martin County West is 10-2 with three games remaining to be played among those teams.
MCW is at Loyola Thursday, Loyola is scheduled at LCWM on Feb. 14 and MCW hosts LCWM on Feb. 16.
