Walk off winner
Huskies rally to top Eagles in opener

After opening its season at home with a win, the Jackson County Central baseball team’s next six games are scheduled on the road.
The Huskies came back from a 2-0 deficit to beat Windom 3-2 on Tuesday at Wacker Field.
Talan Holm went the distance on the mound, allowing two runs, five hits, walking one and striking out eight. He also had two hits at the plate.
The Eagles scored both of their runs in their half of the third inning.
JCC scored once in the third on an RBI single by Carson Kolander and Ben Gallagher drove in a run in the fourth with a single.
In the bottom of the seventh, Ben Gallagher doubled for his second hit of the game and advanced to third on Jace Jorgensen’s ground out. Gage Johnson was walked intentionally and Isaac Hesebeck was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
Pinch-hitter Kasey Storm fouled off a pair of 1-2 pitches, took Ball 2 and then reached on catcher’s interference to bring in Gallagher with the winning run.
Ryan Fricke and Kash Gilbert also had hits for JCC. Windom used four pitchers, with Joe Walinga taking the loss.
The matchup between the Huskies and Eagles is the lone conference game played to date.
The only other Big South team to play thus far is JCC’s next opponent, Blue Earth Area. The Huskies and Buccaneers are scheduled to play at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Blue Earth Area and April 14 at Luverne.
BEA is 1-1 overall with a win over Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman and a loss to Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial.
Jackson County Central’s current next scheduled home game is vs. Redwood Valley on Friday, April 24.
