Facing Toledo for the second time in the six-game series, Martin County West graduate Brandon Williamson went three innings for the Louisville Bats in an International League game Sunday. Williamson pitched against the Mud Hens in the first game of the six-game series last Tuesday.
The left-hander took the loss, allowing four runs on five hits, walking two and striking out one.
Toledo won 6-2.
It was Williamson’s 10th start for Louisville. He has a 1-4 record with a 4.3 earned run average.
In 46 innings he has allowed 24 runs (22 earned) on 46 hits, walking 28, hitting four and striking out 38.
Combined with his time with Double-A Chattanooga, Williamson has a 6-6 record with a 4.21 ERA. He’s pitched 113.1 innings, allowing 55 runs (53 earned) on 107 hits, walking 68, hitting nine and striking out 112.
Also for the second straight game, Michael Pineda was the starting pitcher opposite Williamson. He is on a rehab assignment from the parent club Tigers as he recovers from a triceps injury.
