Huskies collect seven firsts

Jackson County Central entries captured seven first-place finishes Thursday at the Windom Invitational track and field meet.

Five of those firsts were in the girls meet.

Rylie Cother won two events as she was first in the 100-meter hurdles (16.39) and she also won the high jump (4-10).

Naia Ayers won the 3200 meters for JCC (13:16.23), with Amiree Elias Galvan second (15:21.66).

Also, Stevie Untiedt won the 400 meters (1:05.79) and Payton Coquyt was first in the shot put (30-10).

Jackson County Central was second in the team standings. Redwood Valley was first (147), followed by the Huskies (125).

For the boys, Ben Dahlin won the 400 meters (52.93) and he ran the anchor leg of the winning 4x200-meter relay (1:34.78). Running the first three legs were Clay Malchow, Ron'Queall Kyle and Quinn Landherr.

JCC was third in the boys team standings. Worthington was first (152), followed by Redwood Valley (108) and the Huskies (102).

Jackson County Central has two meets scheduled next week, Tuesday at Lake Crystal and Thursday at Mountain Lake.
