Here’s a little more information from the Section 3A team wrestling tournament and some state tournament items.
Section statistics
Jackson County Central wrestlers won just under three-fourths of their matches in their three duals in the Section 3A tournament.
The Huskies won 29 matches and lost 10 in the three duals, winning 12 matches vs. Redwood Valley, nine vs. Fulda/Murray County Central and eight vs. Tracy-Milroy-Balaton/Westbrook-Walnut Grove. That’s a .744 win-loss percentage.
Of those 29 wins, 22 were by fall, two by major decision and four were decisions.
Four Huskies had three falls in the tournament, Nolan Ambrose (in a combined time of 3:31), Seth Stai (also 3:31), Kayden Eller (4:18) and Isaac Rodriguez (5:39).
Stai had the fastest fall when he pinned his Fulda/Murray County Central opponent in 13 seconds. The fastest fall of the tournament was by TMBWWG’s Taylor Squires in :12.
Benjamin Dahlin had two falls in 3:08 for JCC.
