JCC 8th as team; 5 Huskies and 3 Red Bulls ranked

Jackson County Central is eighth in the initial state Class 1A wrestling ratings conducted by The Guillotine.

Defending champion Chatfield leads the team poll, followed by Staples-Motley, Holdingford and Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial.

There are five Huskies in the individual ratings:

• 107 - Payten Sorbel, 7th

• 121 - Kyler Thier, 5th

• 127 - Kayden Eller, 1st

• 139 - Isaac Rodriguez, 1st

• 160 - Evan Bartholomaus, 6th

JCC opens its season Thursday, Dec. 5 with a home triangular vs. Blue Earth Area and Pipestone.

Martin County has two ranked wrestlers in Class 2A:

• 127 - Pierce Rohman, 5th

• 139 - Torrey Paplow, 4th

The Red Bulls open their season Thursday, Dec. 5 with a dual vs. Maple River/United South Central in Wells. The home opener is a Dec. 12 triangular in Fairmont vs. Jackson County Central and New Ulm.

Kasson-Mantorville, Simley and Becker hold down the top three spots in the Class 2A team ratings.

St. Michael-Albertville leads the Class 3A team ratings, followed by Mounds View and Stillwater.

In the girls ratings, Martin County has one ranked wrestler:

• 142 - Kate Kolbe, Martin County, 7th

Apple Valley is the top-ranked girls team, followed by St. Michael-Albertville and Bemidji.
